Cleaning hardwood floors is essential if you want them to maintain their good looks. But it's a duty that also causes a lot of confusion. Questions on whether you should use vinegar to clean hardwood floors and how to avoid streaks are as numerous as there are types of wood.
So when a hardwood floor mop comes along that provides premium, luxurious hardwood floor care for a lifetime, it's more than a mop-it's a must! That's at least the perception at BonaKemi USA, the world leader in hardwood floor care, as reviews surface about their new all-in-one premium hardwood floor care tool.
Dispelling the myth that a mixture of water and vinegar is the best hardwood floor cleaner, the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop combines a no-residue cleaner and microfiber technology for an effective, safe and easy means of hardwood floor care.
Vinegar is an acid that can actually dull and damage your hardwood floor finish over time. A recent independent quantitative consumer study showed that half of consumers who own a wood floor care for it by wet mopping and an estimated 75% of these people are actually damaging their floors by cleaning with the wrong products. That requires consumers to refinish more often than they would with proper cleaning.
Not only is this mop designed for effective cleaning, it's also GREENGUARD® certified for indoor air quality.
Along with dust containment, waterborne finishes and other floor care products in Bona's Environmental Choice System, BonaKemi's Residential Hardwood Floor Cleaner is GREENGUARD certified for indoor air quality and for their Children and Schools program by the industry-independent, non-profit GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI).
The Greenguard Environmental Institute is a non-profit organization independent from industry that establishes standards and testing methods for indoor products. Those that achieve the GREENGUARD certification demonstrate acceptable and safe levels of indoor air emissions. In other words, you don't have to worry about the detrimental effects of harsh chemicals in your home.
Currently, BonaKemi is the only manufacturer in the industry to offer a complete hardwood floor finishing and floor care system GREENGUARD certified for indoor air quality.

According to Eric Hayes, BonaKemi USA Strategic Business Unit Manager/Floor Care, "Consumers spend $10,000 or more to buy, install and refinish hardwood floors, making it one of the largest investments in your home. They consider clean, beautiful floors a source of pride in their homes and want their floors to stay looking like new. The Bona Hardwood Floor Mop brings beauty and convenience home. This is truly the last mop consumers will ever need to buy to properly care for their hardwood floors."
BonaKemi's reputation for innovation coupled with its professional leadership and longevity in hardwood floor finishing and floor care systems inspired the design and feel of the mop. Now consumers can buy an all-in-one spray mop that will last and is truly safe to use on hardwood floors as well as safe for those who live in the home.

What I Like About This System
The Bona Hardwood Floor Mop is currently available at ACE Hardware, TrueValue, Bed Bath & Beyond and other specialty stores. You can also get it online at www.mybonahome.com.
The cost is about $40 and includes the mop, bottle of cleaner and floor pad. You can also buy the microfiber cleaning pads and hardwood floor cleaner cartridge separately for about $10 each.
What I like about this cleaning 'system' is its relative simplicity combined with the technology and experience of BonaKemi behind it. Sure, there are other floor cleaners but this one is specifically formulated for cleaning hardwood floors, taking the guesswork out of whether or not I'm damaging my floors using something else.
I'm also a fan of microfiber technology as I've used it in my home and seen it work. It's not just a buzzword but actually has some "technology" behind it in the way the fibers are designed. It holds a lot more dirt, dust and moisture than conventional fibers. And the best part is that these microfiber pads are machine washable. Being reusable adds a little bit of "green" to both the environment and my wallet.
For the price, BonaKemi's hardwood floor cleaning mop is a worthwhile investment for hardwood floor care. The fact that it's safe and I don't have to worry about any harsh chemicals being sprayed across my floor is a benefit too.
