What's This "Search Local" Box?

This box that says "Search Locally" is a way for you to look for information on a local level.

In the "What" box you can enter something that you want information or services about. For example, you can put in something like "countertops" or "flooring" or whatever else you're looking for information about.

In the "Where" box, put your location, or the location where you want to find information or services for that specific place. Whatever city or location you enter, you'll see results (if there are any) that pertain to the specific "What" you're looking for, in that locale.

Then hit "Go".

If you don't get any results for your specific location, try a larger city or metropolitan area near you. Sometimes there just isn't a particular product or service that's available in your specific town but there may be some in a location close by.

The section that says "Browse by State" is used to search for remodeling and home design related information in a particular U.S. state. When you click on a state you'll be brought to a page that offers you a list of cities to choose from. Clicking on one of those cities will provide you with a list of topics pertinent to that particular city like the example shown below for Clinton, Maryland.

From there you can drill down to find products and services under various categories that may be offered in that particular location, like that shown below.
