Kitchen Cabinet Organizers

Made With Kids In Mind

We often think of kitchen cabinet organizers as those gadgets that help us store and access the things we normally associate with the kitchen. But what about cabinet organizers geared toward kids? How does their stuff relate to kitchen storage?

Well, if you're a parent, particularly with young ones underfoot, you know that kids are pretty indiscriminate about where they leave their stuff.

You also know that keeping an eye on them while you go about your duties can also be a challenge too.

If this scenario sounds familiar, Armstrong™ Cabinets has a kitchen storage solution you might be interested in. They call it KidZone™; kitchen organizers tailored for the young ones in the family.

An Activity Center in the Hub of the Home

Armstrong's KidZone kitchen cabinet organizer system is one of the more unique yet innovative kitchen storage ideas to come along. It's primary function is to serve as an activity center for young children and a kitchen storage cabinet for their toys and other items like craft materials.

As a whole, it functions as a way to keep the children in an area of the kitchen where they can be monitored while you go about your daily tasks.

KidZone is a 36" base cabinet that's available as an option within the Armstrong cabinet product line and comes in a variety of door styles. The organizing system is made up of 3 wood drawers and 2 slide-out chrome wire baskets for storage purposes. A solid wood slide-out table is also included at kid-friendly height, which makes a convenient spot for budding artists or creating the next Play-Doh masterpiece.

I can't recall how many times my three sons were underfoot in the kitchen while my wife and I were in the same spot, preparing dinner. The problem however was that their favorite activity center just happened to be right in our work zone, usually doing their best Buddy Rich imitation on the pots and pans.

The idea behind KidZone's activity and storage cabinet whereby it can be placed outside the work triangle but still in the kitchen makes for a nice solution for just such a scenario.

A Cabinet Organizer That Changes As Your Needs Change

The KidZone cabinet organizer system is versatile enough to grow as your kids do too. When it's no longer needed as a kid-stuff organizer it's drawers and baskets can be removed or used for other purposes that fit the needs of the family's current situation.

It could evolve into a space for typical kitchen items or become the storage spot for the children's school supplies. It might even be a good collection spot for the mail until you get the chance to process it. The fact that these typically messy stacks of paperwork can be hidden behind closed doors instead of strewn across the kitchen counter is a plus too.

Regardless of it's conception as a place for young children to play and store their things it's still a kitchen cabinet organizer at heart, able to take on whatever roles you need it to.

Publisher's Comments

What I like best about the KidZone cabinet organizer is the concept of it being a place to quickly and easily store kids' items in one convenient place. The idea of providing a place for the kids to be while still being in view of the caregivers working in the kitchen is also a good idea in my opinion.

Countless times in my own home the kids would be content to play in the kitchen with whatever items they or we had dragged there. One of my biggest frustrations however was always having to lug those items back to the various places they had come from. Having a cabinet with sufficient space right there on the scene where everything could be put away and hidden behind closed doors would have been greatly appreciated.

Armstrong's KidZone, along with their ChefCenter cabinet organizer system are a couple of kitchen storage solutions geared toward some of the specific ways we use the kitchen.
